The law has recently changed so that a threshold of $12,000 applies. What this means to you is that in order for you to be able to claim compensation, the injury must be quite serious.

What to do first:

Call our Helpline 9325 9996.

We’ll be able to tell you whether or not your injury is likely to exceed the threshold. Prompt advice lets you know where you stand and certainly helps to minimise stress.

What YOU should do to help yourself if injured in a public place:

    1. Get the names, addresses and telephone numbers of witnesses.
    2. Report the accident to authority in charge of the public place - for example, shopping centre manager, service station manager, shire office, etc.
    3. Take photographs of the site of accident clearly showing what caused the incident.
    4. Take photographs of your injuries is they are visible.
    5. Go to your own Doctor immediately - and explain any resulting symptoms.
    6. Contact us for initial advice to ensure that you’re on the right track.
